Mechanism of Action -

Apoptosis and Oxidative DNA Damage

When investigating the toxicity of agents to cells of the MSC system, it is often a prerequisite to also study the mechanism of action of these agents.

HemoGenix® has made it extremely easy to study whether agents induce apoptosis or oxidative DNA damage, which may also be a part of the apoptosis mechanism by instigating stress pathways. The LUMENESC™-96 Research and LUMENESC™-96 TOX can incorporate apoptosis detection. By increasing the number of replicate wells performed for a single sample, a portion of the cells can be used to investigate whether oxidative DNA damage has occurred as a result of agent administration. Oxidative DNA damage is measured using the HemoGenix® OxyFLOW™ Flow Cytometry Platform.
