HemoGenix® is a privately-held Contract Research Service and Assay Development Laboratory that produces and sells its services and assay kits in the United States and many other countries throughout the world. HemoGenix® specializes in developing predictive in vitro assay platforms for primary human and animal target cells. The assays have been developed for our own Contract Research Services and as assay kits for in-house use by our customers.

HemoGenix® is responsible for changing the paradigm and bringing stem cell hemotoxicity testing into the 21st century, by developing the HALO® Platforms that allow biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to detect and predict the effects of large numbers of compounds on up to 14 different cell populations from 5 different species simultaneously.

HemoGenix® is also changing the paradigm by providing standardized, instrument-based stem cell quality control potency assays for transplantation and umbilical cord blood processing laboratories.

Unlike other companies who still tout the use of the subjective, non-standardized, manual colony-forming cell (CFC) assay as a multi-parameter, high-content assay for bone marrow toxicity and other research and clinical applications, all assays developed by HemoGenix® have been validated and exhibit the physical characteristics required for GLP and cGMP compliance (accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, reliability, relevance and robustness).

HemoGenix® has provided services for many small, medium and most of the largest biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Since HemoGenix® began in 2000, our goal, and our continued reputation, has been to provide the finest in vitro assay tools, the best possible service and the highest attention to detail. For this reason, our present assays continue to improve, even though they are already highly refined, and new assays are being developed and validated.

The information below is a summary of our proprietary platforms. They have been designed to provide the most easy and rapid access to information that cell-based systems allow in a cost-effective manner. THE BLOOD-FORMING (LYMPHO-HEMATOPOIETIC) SYSTEM

CAMEO™-4: A miniaturized, methylcellulose-based colony-forming cell (CFC) differentiation assay for research purposes.

CAMEO™-96: The only standardized, methylcellulose CFC assay for basic research (CAMEO™-96 Res) and cell potency determination (CAMEO™-96 STD) for stem cell transplantation and umbilical cord blood storage processing laboratories. The CAMEO™-96 assay platform measure proliferation and detection differentiation potential in the same assay.

HALO®-96 MeC: The only methylcellulose, clonal, ATP-based proliferation assay incorporating the most sensitive, non-subjective, bioluminescence readouts for basic research and stem and progenitor cell - quality control (SPC-QC) potency testing. As an instrument-based assay, HALO®-96 MeC can also be used during drug development and to analyze xenobiotic agents.

HALO®-96 SEC: A 3-5 day, non-methylcellulose, ATP-based proliferation bioluminescence assay system for basic research, stem cell transplantation processing laboratories and umbilical cord blood banks, drug discovery and development toxicity and safely testing and xenobiotic agent screening.

HALO®-384 HT: Specifically designed for high-throughput lympho-hemotoxicity screening for drug discovery and development and xenobiotic agents.

 

THE MESENCHYMAL STEM CELL (MSC) SYSTEM

LUMENESC™-96: The only ATP-based bioluminescence proliferation assay for mesenchymal stem cells and their derivatives.

LUMENESC™-96 QC: Designed to augment the HALO®-96 Stem and Progenitor Cell - Quality Control (SPC-QC) potency assays, by detecting MSC in processed products for transplantation.

LUMENESC™-96 and 384 Tox: Complements the HALO®-96 SEC and HALO®-384 HT Platforms by detecting toxicity to the MSC system for drug discovery and development and for xenobiotic agents.

 

MULTIPLE PROLIFERATING SYSTEMS

LumiSTEM™-96 and 384: An ATP-based bioluminescence assay platform that detects and measures the proliferation status of multiple cells types including cells from primary tissues, embryonic stem cells and their derivatives and transformed cell lines.

COMPARATIVE TOXICITY TESTING

ComparaTOX™: A refined, high-throughput predictive toxicity testing platform that allows comparison of toxicity to over 50 different cell types from at least 14 cell systems simultaneously.

OXIDATIVE DNA DAMAGE

OxyFLOW™: Designed to detect oxidative DNA damage in human and animal cells and adherent and non-adherent cell cultures using flow cytometry.
