LUMENESC TOX

 

There are several applications, reviewed in the previous section, where MSC toxicity testing is of importance. HemoGenix® has made it extremely easy to perform toxicity testing on MSC using LUMENESC™.

Toxicity testing of the MSC system can be performed using a 96- or, better still, a 384-well plate format, both of which are well suited for automated, high-throughput screening procedures. Besides all the advantages provided by the ATP-based bioluminescence proliferation assay, the LUMENESC™-96 and LUMENESC™-384 Tox assays are part of the ComparaTOX™ Platform for Predictive In Vitro Cross-Platform Comparative Toxicity testing in which LUMENESC™ can be combined with both HALO® and LumiSTEM™ allowing agents to be tested on multiple cell populations from many cell systems simultaneously. Since all three Platforms utilize a single signal detection system readout, namely ATP-based bioluminescence, agents tested using different platforms can be directly compared, their toxicities ranked and predictions performed.
